Delivery and returns

We offer the following delivery services:

  1. Our Click and Collect and Click and Reserve services are FREE: simply collect your order from one of our eligible UK stores.
  2. International Delivery costs between £7.50 and £20.00, depending on location.

You can have your items delivered to your nearest UK Whittard store for free. Otherwise see our Deliveries & Returns page for more information. Click here for further information.

We offer four delivery services:

  1. Standard UK Delivery will arrive 2-4 working days after placing your order.
  2. Next-Day Delivery, which will be delivered the next working day, if you place your order before 5 pm Monday to Thursday. If you place your order on a Friday before 5 pm, we will deliver it on the following Monday, unless this is a bank holiday. If your order is placed after 5 pm on a Friday, then it will be delivered the following Tuesday.
  3. Click and Collect orders will take 2-5 working days to arrive at your chosen store. Click and Reserve orders are available to collect after 3 working hours.
  4. International Deliveries can take up to 14 working days to arrive.
  5. All Whittard of Chelsea standard deliveries within the UK are made by courier and delivered between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Saturday, excluding bank holidays.Premium, next day or named day deliveries are delivered between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Please note that couriers can occasionally deliver your order outside these hours, particularly during peak seasons.

Orders placed using our UK standard delivery service are fulfilled by Yodel and Premium, Next Day and Named day deliveries by DPD.

International orders are delivered by your local postal service or DHL Express.

Once your order has been despatched, you'll receive an email notification which will include a link to track your order delivery.

Please note that tracking will not take effect until 12 hours from being despatched.

Deliveries to BFPO addresses are charged at our UK standard delivery rate of £3.95.

Orders will be delivered to the BFPO sorting office. Unfortunately, we're unable to provide tracking information once the parcel arrives at the BFPO sorting office.

Whittard of Chelsea are not liable for any loss or damage of goods delivered to a BFPO address. Please contact our Customer Service Team for further information should you have any concerns.

Unfortunately, we're unable to deliver to a PO Box address.

If you are not at home between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday, we recommend arranging delivery to an alternative address (such as a work address). If we attempt to deliver to your address and no one is available, the courier will leave a card informing you how to re-arrange delivery, and will re-attempt the following working day. Any unclaimed or undelivered orders will eventually make their way back to our Returns department, where a refund will be processed.

Please note that we do not recommend customers to leave instructions for goods to be left outside their address. Should you wish to proceed with this option, Whittard of Chelsea will not be responsible for any loss or damage.

If you wish to return a product to us for any reason, you may do so within 30 days of the despatch date (or by 31st January for orders placed in November and December) to one of our UK stores. The item must be in a saleable condition and in its original undamaged packaging. We'll refund or replace the item should you so wish.

We offer a Taste Guarantee policy which means that if anything fails to meet your expectations you can return within 30 days for an exchange or full refund – just remember to enclose your order confirmation or delivery note as our store team will require proof of purchase.That way you're free to try something new, without the risk of disappointment. Yes, you can exchange an item at one of our UK stores or by contacting our customer service team. Please have your receipt of purchase to do this.

Australia is very strict about certain products entering the country - specifically fruit and flowers. With these items, there's always a very small risk that insects may be present, and they are therefore considered a risky import.

We're therefore unable to ship more than 5kg of tea per order to Australia, due to custom regulations. All orders to Australian addresses must have a contact telephone number in order to comply with our courier regulations.

Due to shipping regulations on animal products we are currently unable to deliver hot chocolates, biscuits and chocolate coated espresso beans to European countries.

The ability to order these products has been restricted on our site in the affected countries. Whilst several of our hot chocolates are vegan friendly, and include no animal products, they are delivered under the same commodity codes as regular hot chocolates and therefore the same restriction applies.

We are working to find a solution to deliver our full range to all countries, and will make products available again once we are able to deliver them.

Click and collect

We hold Click and Reserve orders for 3 days, and Click and Collect orders for 3 weeks.

Please bring your order confirmation email with the order number to the store to collect your order.

If you are happy for someone else to collect your order on your behalf, please give them your order number, order confirmation email and postcode. Our store teams cannot release your order without this information.

Click and Collect orders are held in store for 3 weeks. Click and Reserve orders are held in store for 3 working days.If you don't collect your order within this time, the order will be canceled and refunded.

Should you wish for us to keep your order a little longer, please contact the store or our customer service team as soon as possible within the 3 weeks.

Yes they can. You can contact the store directly and request to keep your order for longer, and they'll confirm if this is possible.

Yes they can. If you give your order confirmation email and postcode to someone else, that person is able to collect your order on your behalf. Unfortunately, we cannot release the order without this information.

Ordering

Unfortunately, once an order has been placed we are unable to amend or cancel the order.

You may return any unwanted items to one of our stores for an exchange or refund or alternatively contact customer services.

A valid promotion code can be applied to your order by entering it into the promotion code box, located on the basket page of the checkout process. Please note that only one promotion code can be redeemed per order.

If you are experiencing any difficulties in redeeming the code, please contact our customer service team .

There could be a number of reasons why your discount code isn't working:

  • Ensure the promotion code is valid.
  • If you have seen the promotion code on an email from us, please check the terms and conditions on the email for any exclusions.
  • The promotion code must be entered in its correct format into the promotion code box, located on the basket page of the checkout process.
  • Only one promotion code can be applied and redeemed per order.
  • The promotion code will not apply if you have ordered discounted items.
  • Some promotion codes and offers are only valid above a specific spend threshold - this will be made clear on any Whittard promotional materials advertising the offer. You must meet this threshold before the offer can be applied.Bear in mind that discounted items do not count towards the threshold.
  • If the particular promotion code entitles you to a free gift, a pop-up box should appear when applying the promotion code. Please click to add the free gift to your order. The free gift will only appear on your order if it has been added in this way.

We accept payment online by Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Maestro and PayPal. We accept payment in GBP, EUR and USD. You can also redeem a Whittard E-voucher by applying the unique E-Voucher code on the payment section at checkout.

Please note that we cannot accept payment by PayPal when placing orders by telephone.

Unless otherwise stated, promotion codes can only be redeemed on online orders. However, if you show the promotion offer by email to our store team, they may be able to honor this for you.

Orders placed on our website are not entitled to a tax refund.

Yes you can. Please contact our Customer Service team with details of your order, and they will arrange for this to be sent to you via email.

We work closely with a range of trusted suppliers, making sure our customers get the best quality products, services and cards. Many of our tea and coffee suppliers are certified by UTZ, the Rainforest Alliance or Fairtrade. We also regularly partner with charity the Eve Appeal to raise money and awareness for their vital research into gynecological cancer.

Please note that our fruit and herbal infusions are not covered by the ETP, but instead are produced in compliance with the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code (see separate document for details).

All Whittard tea gardens are part of the ETP’s Global Standard monitoring programme to ensure our teas are produced safely, fairly and sustainably.

We also assist the tea sector to understand the implications of climate change and maintain tea production in the face of changing weather patterns and growing conditions.
  • Partnering with charities to help local communities eg. Working with UNICEF to combat child marriage and exploitation of girls in Assam.

Please note that our fruit and herbal infusions are not covered by the ETP, and on these infusions, we work direct with our suppliers to ensure fair and sustainable sourcing.

Visiting our suppliers regularly, they guarantee production to EU standards on all our lines, and all of our suppliers all adhere to sustainable management codes, with full transparency along the entire supply chain.

To make sure you enjoy our freshly roasted coffee at its best, we add a best before date to it which is 4 weeks from the date of ordering. Please be assured that coffee does not go off after this date. However, it may have lost a little of its perfect taste: as soon as coffee is exposed to air and moisture, the flavour is affected.

At Whittard, we offer premium coffee which is sold at the peak of its condition at all times, and is roasted approximately 3 months before it is sold online and in our stores.

To make sure customers receive only the freshest coffee, we carefully manage our stock and we are confident the quality of your product will be excellent. But if you are ever disappointed, please return your product under our Taste Guarantee Policy to one of our UK stores or by contacting customer services.Please include a note to tell us what's wrong, and we will arrange an exchange or refund for you as requested.

No, we don't show any prices on the paperwork sent with order deliveries. Please note that we do include prices for international deliveries due to custom reasons.

Yes, we now offer free gift messaging. Simply choose your products and head to the checkout where you will be able to add a free gift message.

Our instant tea contains an extract of black tea and therefore a small amount of caffeine (approximately 0.01%).

Subscriptions

You can choose from our tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and instant tea to include in your subscription.

Unfortunately, our subscriptions service is currently only available to customers within the UK.

Spend £30 or more on your first subscription order to receive free delivery. All subsequent subscription deliveries will be free when you spend £20 or more. Orders below £20 cost £3.95.

Yes, you can have your subscription order delivered to wherever you like within the UK. However, please note that this is a recurring service and you will continue to be charged until you cancel the subscription.

We only accept card payments for our subscriptions service.We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Maestro. Please note that we cannot accept payment by PayPal.

We will try to charge your card again and if this fails you will receive an email asking you to amend your card details in your account.

Yes, you can pause your subscription or skip deliveries in your account.

Signing up with us is rewarded in a variety of ways. Not only do you get the benefit of earning points each time you shop with us but you can also redeem your earned points against any future purchases. You will also get a free gift on your 2nd 'Rewards' purchase and a voucher every year to celebrate your anniversary with Whittard Rewards. Because Rewards members get more, you'll receive exclusive discounts and early access to events like sales and new products before anyone else.

Points are earned by purchasing from stores or our website, and through other opportunities, with or without a purchase. If you joined in-store, make sure to sign up for your online account to access your benefits and rewards. Otherwise, sign in to your Whittard account as usual and access your membership benefits there. For every £1 you spend you will earn 1 point, every 1 point is worth £0.02. For international customers your points value is equivalent to the UK points value and all values will be converted through the most recent exchange rates.

Points are redeemable once they reach a total balance of 50 points minimum. Points can be redeemed to reduce the total payable amount of your transaction, either in Whittard stores or on the Whittard website. You can choose whether you want to redeem your points balance partially or in full. For example, if you have 70 points and your shopping (excluding delivery if placing an order online) comes to £12.40 then you can redeem all your 70 points to reduce your shopping bill by £1.40 to £11.00 payable, or you can choose to redeem 50 points to reduce your shopping bill by £1 to £11.40 payable.

Yes. You can earn and redeem your points anywhere that is convenient to you.

Yes, Whittard Rewards is available to anyone who resides in a country that either has a Whittard store or that Whittard ships to, you can view the full list of countries here.

For every £1 you spend you will earn 1 point, every 1 point is worth £0.02. For international customers your points value is equivalent to the UK points value and all values will be converted through the most recent exchange rates.

Your points balance is visible on your Whittard Rewards account page, and you can view this on your Whittard Rewards digital pass. When shopping in-store, you can also ask a store staff member and they can look it up on the till system for you. Alternatively, you can contact our Customer Services team here and they can inform you of your points balance.

Points are valid for 24 months from the first date of issue. Irrespective of which date in any month you earn the points, your points will expire on the last day of the final calendar month. For example, if you earned 20 points on 20th September 2024, those 20 points will expire on 30th September 2026.

Whittard Rewards Pass is a digital card for loyalty members that is attached to Whittard emails and can be downloaded onto Apple or Android devices for future use. The pass will have key information like your membership number and your latest points balance. It will also contain a barcode that can be scanned each time you visit our store and make a transaction. By scanning the card, our till point staff can recognise you as a Whittard Reward member, allocate the latest points earned to your membership account and enable you to redeem any points that you may have in your account.

Your Whittard Rewards digital pass will be sent to you in your welcome email where you will be able to download this to your mobile wallet by clicking on either the ‘Add to Apple Wallet’ or ‘Add to Google Wallet’ buttons. Your digital pass can be used when shopping in a Whittard store to link your transaction to your Whittard Rewards account. The points you've earned in-store will be credited to your account but will be pending for seven days.

No. Although scanning the card is a quicker way to identify yourself as a Whittard Rewards member, it is not compulsory to have it in hand for you to benefit from the scheme. Simply, provide the store staff member with the email address linked to your Whittard Rewards account when you purchase, and your points will be automatically applied.

Points earned when placing an order are displayed on your pending points balance for seven days before being credited to your Whittard Rewards account. Should you choose to return your order partially or fully within seven days, your pending points balance will be amended accordingly. Should you choose to return your order after seven days partially or fully and within the valid returns period, the points you've earned for the returned items will be deducted from your total points balance.

Yes. If you redeemed Whittard Rewards points towards your purchase and then choose to return your order partially or fully within the 30-day returns period, the points you redeemed for the returned items will be credited back to you and your total points balance will be adjusted accordingly.

If you are not satisfied with the free product you selected, you can exchange this for another item £9 or under (or equivalent in your local currency) within the valid returns period. Please contact Customer Service for further support.

Yes. If you have redeemed your £5 anniversary coupon and you choose to return your order of the value of £5 or more partially or fully within the valid returns period, you will be credited your £5 anniversary coupon back. Please note, that your individual coupon code will change. International customers will receive the equivalent to £5 in your local currency.

You can terminate your account at any time within the ‘Personal Data’ section of your Whittard account. On termination, all earned points and rewards will be lost. You can choose to re-join Whittard Rewards at any time, but your points and rewards will not be reinstated.
