Homemade Salted Caramel Milkshake Recipe

An Easter freakshake idea that kids will love. This milkshake from My Kitchen Drawer is simple to make and makes a fun treat for the Easter holidays.

For the salted caramel chocolate nest

50g dark chocolate, melted

1 tbsp Whittard Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

100g cornflakes

1 tbsp golden syrup

For the Salted Caramel Milkshake

6 scoops of vanilla ice-cream

3 tbsp Whittard Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Powder

500ml semi skimmed milk

To Decorate

100g melted dark chocolate

Whipped Cream

Salted Caramel sauce

50g Mini Eggs

2 Malteser Bunnies

Handful Whittard Mini Marshmallows

For the Salted Caramel Chocolate nest

  1. Add the melted dark chocolate to a large bowl then add 1 tbsp Whittard Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate and stir it through well.
  2. Pour in the cornflakes and golden syrup and mix them through the melted chocolate until fully coated.
  3. Find a small bowl or egg cup and line it with some cling film then fill the bowl with 1 tbsp of the mixture and push it against the sides to create a nest shape
  4. Place them in the fridge to set for 30 minutes

For the Salted Caramel Milkshake

  1. Prepare the Milkshake glasses by dipping the rims into the melted chocolate then drizzle the rest inside the glasses and over the edge
  2. Make the milkshake by adding 6 scoops of vanilla ice-cream to a blender with 3 tbsp of Whittard Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate powder and 500ml Semi Skimmed Milk
  3. Blend on a medium to high speed until fully combined.
  4. Pour the milkshake into the prepared glasses then top them with a generous squirt of whipped cream and a decadent drizzle of salted caramel.

To decorate

  1. Remove the cornflake nests from the bowls and peel away the cling film. Pop them on top of the whipped cream and fill with mini eggs.
  2. Finish with a Malteser bunny, crushed mini eggs and a scattering of Whittard Mini Marshmallows.
