    Flavour

    Allow the complex and contrasting notes of dark chocolate, rose and grape to dance along your taste buds as you savour this unique and irresistible coffee from the Worka village in Ethiopia. The smooth mouthfeel and fresh, fruity notes are enhanced by the extended fermentation process used.

    Process

    After being carefully harvested, these micro-lot single-origin coffee beans are sealed in an airless container to begin their fermentation process. The skin and flesh of the coffee cherry – essentially the fruit – is not removed before fermentation and this allows the cherry’s flavour to really soak into the coffee bean. Most coffees are fermented for 12-24 hours, but in Worka Sakaro’s case this is extended to 72 hours and the result is an undeniably complex and utterly luxurious coffee.

    Brewing

    We recommend using Aeropress or filter equipment when brewing to ensure the complex flavours are not having to compete with the flavours imparted by the roast of the coffee. Cafetières can also be used but the coffee shouldn’t brewed for too long!
