  • Full Description

Go Green with our Classic Green Tea. This particular tea has been chosen as an introduction to the world of green tea. Made in the traditional Sencha style but sourced from China, this tea has been selected for its strength, subtle sweetness and rich, refreshing taste. A good sencha will have all the dewy freshness of a bright spring morning and a slightly savoury smoothness – far too often, green tea is over-brewed, becoming tannic and bitter. The trick is to brew the tea lightly, allowing the boiled water to cool for about five minutes before pouring. The result is a lush, verdant brew which beats a bowl of broccoli any day.

NO.297

NUMEROLOGY

“No. 297 is the turning point.” This note is mysteriously scribbled at the back of one of Walter Whittard’s notebooks, undoubtedly at a tea auction. But what was so crucial about lot 297? We like to think Walter noticed something extraordinary about 297, just like we see something unique in our Classic Green Tea. Perhaps the perfect mixture of strength and flavour for an incredible green tea?

CHINA

The origins of tea lie in China: legend has it that it was discovered when a few leaves fell into the mythical emperor Shennong's cup of hot water. Today China produces thousands of different varieties ranging from black and green tea to more unusual teas, like puerh or yellow tea.

Store in a sealed jar or tin, such as our Fill-Me-Up Tea Caddies.
