    Most of the tea you'll taste comes from the Camellia sinensis plant, but organic rooibos is a whole other story: it's cultivated solely in the Cederberg mountains of South Africa where it's grown on small bushes producing green, needle-like leaves. The name “rooibos” or “red bush” tea refers to the deep russet colour of the leaves after the process of oxidation, highlighting their naturally rich, treacle-toned taste.

NUMEROLOGY

We’ve given our signature rooibos the number 31 – the temperature in Clanwilliam, South Africa, when the tea is harvested at the height of summer. It’s thirsty work!

SOUTH AFRICA

Herbal rooibos and honeybush are unique to the Cederberg Mountains in South Africa, where they've been harvested by Khoisan tribes for centuries. The leaves are usually processed in a similar way to black tea, giving a fruity, caffeine-free infusion.

Store in a sealed jar or tin, such as our Fill-Me-Up Tea Caddies.

How to Make

1- 2 tsp loose infusion

200ml water

  1. Pop 1 tsp of loose infusion per cup into a Pao mug or teapot with an infuser.
  2. Pour in 200ml water per cup boiled to 100 degrees
  3. Wait for at least 5 minutes
  4. Remove infuser and enjoy.
  5. Best enjoyed without milk.

2 tsp loose infusion

100ml freshly boiled water

Ice

Fruit or mint to garnish (optional)

  1. Add the loose infusion to a refillable teabag or an infuser and place in a cup or heat-resistant glass.
  2. Pour over freshly boiled water and leave for 15 minutes. Remove the teabag/infuser.
  3. Top up with plenty of ice.
  4. Garnish with fruit and sprigs of mint if desired.
