Gloriously crisp and clean Sri Lankan loose leaf black tea
This delicious loose leaf Ceylon Orange Pekoe is blended from a selection of the finest black teas from Sri Lanka.
Our carefully considered choices lead to a taste that is significantly lighter and less astringent than many other Sri Lankan teas.
Delicate. Delicious.
We find it's best enjoyed black to appreciate its clean, crisp brightness, though it holds its own against a splash of milk if brewed strong.
Don't be fooled by the name: Orange Pekoe has nothing to do with orange flavour. Pekoe comes from the Chinese for white tip, referring to the young, fresh leaves, while Orange was added by 19th century merchants to suggest a royal warrant from Holland's royal family.
Today it simply refers to the grade: an unbroken whole leaf tea with long, wiry leaves that produce a naturally clean, bright cup.
Easy-going and versatile, this is a tea for all tastes and all times of day.
