Ethiopia

Ethiopia is widely regarded as the birthplace of coffee. The country is home to a vast number of coffee varieties, both wild and farmed, each with unique flavour profiles. They range from bright and citrusy, with floral aromas, to rich, fruity flavours like blueberry or stone fruits. Regions such as Yirgacheffe and Sidamo are especially renowned for their delicate, tea-like qualities, and are a classic place to find unique coffees to explore.

Brazil

Brazil’s vast and diverse landscapes allow for a variety of growing conditions, leading to a rich array of coffee profiles and have led to it being the biggest coffee producer in the world. These coffees are typically known for their low acidity and full body, with sweet, nutty, and chocolatey flavours, and are often used as a base for blended options, adding balance and richness to the cup.

Guatemala

Guatemala's coffee-growing regions are known for their rich volcanic soils and diverse microclimates. These conditions create coffees with a wide range of flavours, from lighter, fruit-forward profiles with hints of apple or berry to deeper, richer cups featuring chocolate, caramel, and spices.

India

Indian coffees are typically creamy and bold, with earthy, spicy undertones and a heavy body. The rich, black volcanic soils and diverse climatic conditions further enhance the complexity. The regions of Karnataka and Kerala are especially well-known thanks to the “Monsooning” process, a method of processing the beans which gives them an unmistakable sweetness.

Jamaica

Jamaica produces some of the most sought-after coffees in the world, particularly from the famed Blue Mountain region where the combination of high altitudes, cool temperatures, and mineral-rich soils creates exceptional coffee beans. Expect a balanced sweetness, clean, floral nutty tones, and a delicious, luxuriously smooth texture.

Kenya

Kenyan coffee is celebrated for its bright taste and bold, vibrant flavours. These coffees are often described as "juicy," with prominent notes of blackcurrant, berry, and citrus. Most Kenyan coffee is produced by smallholder cooperatives, which focus on quality over quantity and the country’s high altitudes, nutrient-rich volcanic soils, and ideal climate all contribute to the exceptional character of its beans, making Kenyan coffee a firm favourite.

We do! Our Evening Reserved Coffee Beans offer a chemical-free decaf option. This coffee uses natural mountain water to wash the caffeine out of the beans instead of the usual chemical heavy processing. The result means you get all the flavour without the heavy buzz.

Please note, all decaf coffee contains some caffeine, approximately 1/10th of a regular cup of coffee.

We highly recommend an opaque, airtight container kept at a cool temperature. An airtight container with a one-way valve would be best as it allows the beans to off-gas, keeping them fresher for even longer.

While coffee beans are resilient to expiration, unsealed coffee grounds will go stale after a day or two. Keep them in a sealed container and they’ll be fresh for around 1-2 weeks.

We recommend trying a medium roast coffee to begin with as it offers a balance of characteristics from dark and light roasts. Once you’ve discovered what flavours you like, try other roasts and see which you prefer.

Darker roasts offer caramelised and smokey tones. Light roasts offer fruitier, brighter tones. Medium roasts are more chocolatey and more forgiving to brew.

Brewed coffee begins to go stale after a few hours, but this time can be extended by keeping your coffee in the fridge. Our advice is to brew a fresh cup each time!

Similarly, single estate coffees come from a single farm, but these varieties are often rare to find! Our limited edition single estate coffee beans are often sourced from family-owned single estates offering a true taste of the location they’re harvested in.
