An elegant loose leaf sencha green tea
Sweet, fresh and velvety, this loose leaf sencha green is an exquisite delicacy.
Grown in Kirishima, whose name means "Island of Fog" in Japanese, it takes both its character and its name, Asagiri, meaning "morning mist", from the thick fog that regularly shrouds the mountain gardens.
The fog isn't just for dramatic effect. It slows the tea's growth, allowing the leaves to develop a full-bodied, uniquely nuanced flavour.
Steamed in the traditional Japanese manner, the leaves keep their fresh green colour and develop the smooth sweetness and silky texture that sets sencha apart from other green teas.
The same family has tended the mountain garden we source from for three generations, and it shows. Every sip is a celebration of their skill. Refined, fresh and gently invigorating.
