Alternative milk for tea

The ultimate heartbreak? A tea purist giving up dairy. You might like it black, but if a milky cup of tea is your ritual of choice, we recommend the below.

Rice Milk

Mild, clean and naturally sweet, rice milk makes an excellent partner for classic English Breakfast. It's a little on the thin side, so we recommend a generous splash for stronger brews.

Recommended blend: English Breakfast

Unsweetened Soya Milk

Matcha and soya? Name a better duo, we'll wait. This perfect pair accentuate each other's flavours, and the soya froths up beautifully for an airy matcha latte.

Recommended blend: Matcha

Almond Milk

Brimming with nutty sweetness, almond milk needs a powerful brew to cut through, with a flavour that can hold its own.

Recommended blend: Chelsea Breakfast

A note on the pour

Dairy-free milks often split at higher temperatures, sometimes even 60°C. Warm your alternative milk a little first to keep your tea smooth and golden.

Alternative milk for hot chocolate

This one's best left to the hot chocolate evangelists (that's you). We asked our followers which dairy-free milk makes a mug of pure chocolate bliss, and here's what you had to say.

Unsweetened Almond Milk

"It's not overpowering so you can taste the hot chocolate"

Coconut Milk

"Just that little bit sweeter"

Almond Milk

"Tastes delicious"

Try our dairy-free delights

Hot chocolate can feel medicinal. It's the restorative remedy for a cold night or a hard day, and we don't let dairy get in the way of that. That's why many of our hot chocolates are completely vegan.

Alternative milk for coffee

Whether you like a quick splash in your americano, favour a flat white or drink iced lattes whatever the weather - there's a non-dairy option for you.

Oat Milk

Creamy, sweet and easy to foam, oat milk is a versatile and widely-loved alternative, which works well with medium roasts.

Recommended blend: San Agustin Colombia Coffee, Breakfast Blend

Coconut Milk

The natural, nutty sweetness of coconut milk is the perfect counterpart for the powerful taste of a dark roast.

Recommended blend: Monsoon Malabar, Café Français

Cashew Milk

A deliciously creamy milk with a smooth body, cashew is ideal for americanos and other long coffees.

Recommended blend: Guatemala Elephant, Breakfast Blend
