Outstandingly bright and with unrivalled citrus acidity, Kenya Karatu Microlot Coffee is a beautifully refreshing way to start off the day.
It is produced by a cooperative of around 800 members on smallholdings in the Thika district of Central Province near Gatundu town. The bushes grow in the shade of macadamia and eucalyptus trees in fertile volcanic loam soil in the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains in perfect conditions. Once ripe, the beans are picked by hand and dried on tables in the Kenyan sun to bring out their exceptionally complex taste.
